Head of Developer Program and Evangelism
Location
Global / remote — with travel for conferences, events, and customer visits
Summary
As Head of Developer Program and Evangelism, you own developer.roguecortex.com end to end—its content, its operation, and the developers who rely on it. You are the public face of our developer platform: the person who makes complex robotics systems approachable, who keeps the portal running and its content sharp, and who gets developers excited to build on us—one-on-one, in the docs, and on stage at conferences. You sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and community, translating deep technical capability into a program developers love and advocate for.
Duties
- Own developer.roguecortex.com: its content strategy, information architecture, and day-to-day operation, keeping it accurate, current, and genuinely useful
- Run the developer program end to end—onboarding, engagement, feedback loops, and retention—and define the metrics that tell you whether it's working
- Serve as the primary point of support for developers on the platform: triage questions, unblock integrations, and turn recurring pain points into documentation, tooling, or product feedback
- Promote the developer program to end users and the wider community—write and present talks, demos, workshops, and tutorials at conferences, meetups, and online
- Simplify complex robotics problems into clear narratives, reference material, and examples that developers across different domains can act on
- Partner with engineering and product to shape the platform roadmap from what developers actually need, and represent the developer voice internally
- Build and grow relationships with the developer community, key partners, and early adopters, turning them into advocates
- Coordinate content contributors (technical writers, engineers) and maintain a consistent voice, standard, and quality bar across the portal
Required Skills
- Exceptional communicator—clear and compelling in writing, in documentation, and on stage in front of technical audiences
- Highly organized, able to own a program end to end and keep many moving parts (content, support, events, roadmap) coherent and on track
- A talent for simplifying complex problems—taking intricate systems and making them understandable and actionable for developers
- Well versed in robotics components, systems, and solutions across multiple domains (e.g. perception, control, actuation, communications, embedded, cloud)
- Strong grasp of the developer experience: APIs, SDKs, documentation, and what makes a platform pleasant—or painful—to build on
- Proven experience running developer relations, developer programs, technical evangelism, or a closely related function
- Comfortable engaging directly with developers technically—reading code and integrations well enough to support and advocate credibly
- Willingness and enthusiasm to travel and present at conferences and events
Nice to Have
- Prior experience owning or launching a developer portal, SDK program, or API platform
- A track record of public speaking, published technical content, or an established presence in a developer or robotics community
- Hands-on background in robotics, embedded systems, or hardware-adjacent development
- Experience with docs-as-code workflows and developer-facing content tooling
- Familiarity with robotics middleware and ecosystems (ROS/ROS2, MAVLink, or comparable)
- Experience building and managing a community—forums, ambassador programs, or open-source engagement
